Suddenly winter, and suddenly so much of it. It’s been a wonderfully snowy few days in the Lake District, and the UK’s mountains in general if my social media feeds are anything to go by.
I’ve been sticking close to home, as living 250m above sea level can occasionally make the roads a little tricky heavy snow hits. Luckily I have a couple on my doorstep, so it’s all been about Carrock Fell and High Pike for the last few days.
Breaking trail in thigh to waist deep snow is fun in its own silly hard work kind of way, and as always the best bit is being able to tear down the hill in soft powder, knowing you’ll fall over several times and still have a soft landing 😉
Overall colour palette: blue and white. Most welcome after a couple of months of grey and wet.
