It’s difficult to do after the amount we’ve had and the damage it’s caused in the Lake District and Cumbria (and elsewhere) over the last couple of months, but it’s always worth stressing that rain isn’t a bad thing for landscape photography. As long as you can keep the camera safely dry and water off the lens.
Most landscape photographers would prefer it to blue skies, although recently a more even balance between the two would be welcome for the sake of sanity.
A couple of days ago blanket low cloud kept me to low level wandering, so from Derwent Water I had a walk up past a gushing Lodore Falls and into the woods beyond. A beautiful area, and one that will be revisited, possibly in spring, most definitely in autumn.
