Great Langdale is an ideal place to catch the early morning light at this time of year, as the first rays of the day rake across the front of the Langdale Pikes.
We will spend the morning around Side Pike and Blea Tarn. Side Pike offers enough elevation to give splendid views over Langdale and Mickleden, and Blea Tarn is an iconic Lake District location, giving perfect reflections of the Langdale Pikes on calm mornings.
Ideal for beginner and intermediate photographers, whether you’re looking to learn about some of the basics of photography and not relying on your camera’s automatic modes, or you’re just looking to take your images to the next level.
Basic technical aspects of exposure such as ISO, aperture and shutter speed will be covered as much as is needed depending on the individual, as well as approaches to other aspects of photography including light and composition amongst other things.
With sunrise at approximately 8.00am, the day will begin at 7.30am from the Old Dungeon Ghyll car park to give sufficient time to be in position for sunrise and the most dramatic light of the day.
