An idyllic pastoral scene, especially in summer, the Newlands Valley is nevertheless surrounded by several mountains rising straight from the valley floor, and all of them offer excellent walking with fantastic views. Even little old Cat Bells - popular amongst families given its proximity to Keswick and smaller stature - is a fun climb and one of my favourite sunrise locations.

It’s been a while… since I stared at the stars

It feels like weeks since I’ve actually been out for a serious photoshoot. And by that I mean either the ‘wake up on top of  a mountain in a tent’ kind or the ‘headtorch walk up a mountain in the dark’ kind.
