Innominate Tarn

Innominate Tarn is famously the last resting place of Alfred Wainwright, on his favourite Lake District fell, Haystacks.

Though possibly no longer 'a quiet place, a lonely place', it could be argued that if one place embodies the heart and soul of the Lake District this is it. Not the loftiest of peaks, not the grandest of ambitions, but character and charm in abundance, and more to it than first meets the eye.
