Some mid afternoon sunshine had tempted me out up Bowfell in the hope of catching a sunset, or at least a pink dusky glow over Langdale.
It wasn't to be, however you can keep your colour. I love stark winter days like this, with only a desaturated landscape of line, shape and form to play with.
As long as you can still see the hills that is - about 5 minutes after I shot this the wind whipped up, the cloud came down and I was being pelted with heavy hail and snow. All good fun and definitely worth leaving the office for.
