After having pitched the tent for the night, I didn't think the light was going to give me much to work with, but I then noticed the gap between the cloud and the summit of Skiddaw which the sun was inching towards.
It was a bitterly cold evening, with quite strong winds, and the couple of minutes waiting for the sun to poke its head through the gap seemed to go on forever.
Various bits of me had already gone numb (and the tent froze up nicely overnight - http://www.twitpic.com/4m2st5) but happily I came away with this before retreating to the (relative) warmth of the sleeping bag. April 2011.
