Fading Winter, Great Gable

A bleary eyed early start and a bit of a trek from Wasdale YHA to get this shot.

After a slightly surreal walk along the road with the headtorch picking out hundreds of staring Herdwick sheep eyes, I thought I was going to miss the light, but managed to round the corner of Lingmell in time to set up this shot over Piers Gill towards Great Gable.

The distant mist is an atmospheric addition and you can see as far as Blencathra, just peeking above it on the right. March 2010.
