Great Gable from Spout Head

The plan for the morning had been to aim for the summit of Lingmell for first light, however even with a 4.30am start from Borrowdale I didn't quite make it as far as intended before sun up. Oh how I wish for those lazy December 9am sunrises again!

Still, the light was lovely and I managed to conjure a few images I was happy with from the Corridor Route looking back to Great Gable.

Though this scene almost yearns for a portrait format image, I wanted to include the patch of light on the summit of Kirk Fell too, and had to use the square format to squeeze it in. February 2012.
