A 3.30am start from Borrowdale YHA, a 3 hour climb, and 10 minutes of shooting whilst the first light of the day clipped the summit of Great Gable, and more distant Kirk Fell and Pillar to the left.
Taken from the corridor route on Scafell Pike, the sweeping lines of crag and rock and the ragged chasm of Piers Ghyll lead the eye into the scene nicely. March 2011.
