My first visit (with camera in hand) to this beautiful little gorge in Eskdale, and I shall be back sooner rather than later.
The array of vegetation on display reminded me more of visits to far North Queensland than cooler and rather less tropical (but similarly wet) West Cumbria.
At the top of the gorge lies the impressive 60ft fall of Stanley Ghyll Force, on this occasion roaring into the plunge pool with extra force due to excessive sky leakage in recent days. September 2012.
