I've been up Great Gable many times. Not only is it one of my favourite fells in the Lake District, but I did a 'year in the life of...' photo project for Trail magazine in 2011, which saw me spend a lot of time with it.
I'm not sure I've ever been sat on the summit in any more beautiful conditions than this though. Deep snow all around, including a coating down to valley level, and a soft orange dusky glow highlighting the centrepiece of Wastwater way down in the valley below.
I've just had this printed at a metre wide for my exhibition at the Sheffield Adventure Film Festival and it looks great. Needs to be seen big!
