Slioch and Loch Maree

Often espoused as being one of the most beautiful lochs in Scotland, Loch Maree certainly has a way of charming the landscape photographer.

If what you’d expect from Torridon is ancient hunks of weathered sandstone, Scots pine trees, high and mighty snow – capped Munros and sheltered reflective inlets, then here are all your boxes ticked.

If photographing the wider landscape, it’s difficult not to aim the lens towards the dominant rocky fortress of Slioch across the water.

This last image is probably my favourite from the trip, all the individual elements coming together in just about the right places.

For more images from Torridon and or to purchase prints, see the Torridon gallery.
